The importance of keeping your PUA up to date
A PaperCut license with an active Premium Upgrade Assurance (PUA) gives you access to:

» The latest security enhancements
These benefits are important to organisations that want to run their print environment to it’s full potential, resolve technical issues immediately and work proactively against security threats and towards legislative changes.
The first year of PUA is ‘a must’ (well mandatory really), for all new PaperCut licenses purchased and organisations are encouraged through a discount structure to purchase multiple years in advance.
The structure is as follows:
» 1 year premium upgrade assurance – 20% of total license price (or minimum of $250.00) – mandatory
» 2 years premium upgrade assurance – 35% of total license price (or minimum of $438.00)
» 3 years premium upgrade assurance – 45% of total license price (or minimum of $563.00)
» 4 years premium upgrade assurance – 55% of total license price (or minimum of $688.00)
» 5 years premium upgrade assurance – 60% of total license price (or minimum of $750.00)
So what happens when your PUA expires?
PaperCut is a license that is purchased outright. When your PUA expires your PaperCut license continues to work. This would be great if everything stood still, however things do not!
The team at PaperCut are always working in the background to deliver upgrades and updated versions with new features and security enhancements along with critical patches to improve and protect your print environment.
When your PUA expires you no longer have access to these software updates meaning that your PaperCut software is no longer working to its full potential and when something goes wrong your support case is not considered a priority!! Now this is a problem!
How can I make sure that my PUA is up to date?
All PaperCut license files are stamped with an upgrade assurance expiration date found under the license details in the application’s About page. If your PUA is current you receive all of the benefits of an active PUA. If it has expired your PaperCut software will still work but it is strongly recommended that you upgrade it.
Did you know that you can upgrade a current PUA?
Current PUA’s can be upgraded in the month prior to their expiration date. They can also be increased, for example: a license with a PUA of 1 year can be upgraded by another 4 years to total 5 years.
How can I obtain a quote or purchase a PUA?
For a quote or to purchase a PUA on a PaperCut license all you need is a copy of the current license file and a valid PO. You are encouraged to log onto the Channel Connect portal or contact us for assistance.
